Number of Pop-Ups We, Uh, Popped In On: Three

Spot That Lived Up to the Hype: David Lynch’s Silencio. The line was wrapped around the block to get in, with a very strict door list. Once you got past the velvet ropes (oh, Miami) there was a crew of rotating mixologists and a “no photos allowed” rule being enforced. So you’ll just have to take our word for the fact that this Paris-to-Florida transplant was awesome.

Party That Had Us Checking Off Names on our Mental Celeb List: The MOCA party on Tuesday at MOCA North Miami. Bruce Weber, Nicole Miller, Stefano Tonchi and Christian Slater showed support for Bill Viola’s Liber Insularum exhibit. But strangely, there were no Heathers to be seen.

Trend That We Saw on Everyone: It was a battle of the mustaches, as dudes rocking pencil thin mustaches a la John Waters stood side-by-side with fellas wearing theirs thick, waxed, and pointy. For ladies, it’s an excuse to keep wearing that mustached necklace well after Movember ended.

Fair That Made Our Jaw Drop: Aqua 12 at the Aqua Hotel. Each gallery exhibited its best work in different hotel rooms spread out through the corridors—sans the beds, of course—with plenty of random materials used. (We loved the huge floating ’80s boombox.) Their live band was pretty great, too, playing dark surf rock as people schmoozed and boozed.

Indie Musicians Who We Never Imagined We’d See At Art Basel Miami:  Annie Clark of St. Vincent and local favorite the Jacuzzi Boys, both spotted at the Playboy party. They were checking out the  A$AP Rocky performance by the Delano poolside, and we spotted fans approaching Clark, asking if it was really her. She’s just as sweet as she looks!
